Turn On an Authenticator App

An authenticator app adds a second lock. Sign-in asks for a code from your phone.

1. Install an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
2. Go to Settings, then Security.
3. Select Set Up Authenticator App.
4. Scan the QR code with the app. Can't scan? Select Can't Scan? Enter Key, then Copy, and paste the key into the app.
5. Type the 6-digit code from the app under Code and select Verify.

Save the Recovery Codes

Next you see Authenticator App Set Up and 10 recovery codes. They show only once. Each code works one time.

Select Copy All, Download or Print to save them, and keep them somewhere safe. Done turns on once they're saved.
