What Connections Can Access

Google and Microsoft show a permission screen when you connect. Their wording sounds broad. Here is what SignUpSnap actually does.

Google

  • Adds video conference bookings to Google Calendar.
  • Adds a Google Meet link to each event you create.
  • Updates or removes the event when a booking changes.
  • Keeps syncing while signed out.
  • Never reads or changes other events.

Google says "View and edit events on all calendars you have access to in Google Calendar." That is the Google permission that lets SignUpSnap add events to your main calendar. SignUpSnap only uses your main calendar.

Microsoft

  • Adds video conference bookings to Outlook Calendar.
  • Adds a Teams link to each event you create.
  • Updates or removes the event when a booking changes.
  • Keeps syncing while signed out.
  • Never reads or changes other events.

Microsoft says "Maintain access to data you have given SignUpSnap access to." That lets a booking made at night reach your calendar without you signing in.

Microsoft also says "Have full access to your calendars." That is the Microsoft permission that lets SignUpSnap add events.

School accounts may also see "Read and create your online meetings." That makes the Teams link. "Read your profile" gets your name and email.

Zoom

  • Creates a Zoom link for each event you create.
  • Updates or removes the meeting when a booking changes.

Stop Access
